FIFTY-TWO BOYS SELECTED TO PLAY IN WALMART FIRST TEE OPEN AT PEBBLE BEACH PRESENTED BY NATURE VALLEY
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida – Fifty-two junior participants representing 34 nationwide Chapters of The First Tee have been selected to play in the fifth-annual Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. The 52 boys were among 90 participants that took part in The First Tee selection process at Kansas State University and Colbert Hills Golf Course, July 14-18. The selection process evaluates participants’ playing ability and comprehension of the life skills and core lessons learned through The First Tee program.
Eighteen girls will be chosen at a second selection event, July 23-27, at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club in Rye, NH.
Of the 78 juniors that will participate in this year’s tournament, 70 will be chosen from these two selection events. The fifth-annual Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, a nationally televised Champions Tour tournament, takes place August 25-31 over Labor Day weekend.
