Collaboration Partners The First Tee of Cleveland is privileged and strengthened to work with several key collaboration partners: - Cleveland Metroparks
In 2003 The First Tee of Cleveland entered into a formal agreement with Cleveland Metroparks. The terms of the Agreement are that The First Tee of Cleveland finances the facilities (golf course, practice areas, maintenance building and Learning Center) at the Washington Golf Learning Center and that Cleveland Metroparks manages them. Cleveland Metroparks, established in 1917, is a separate political subdivision of the State of Ohio, governed by a Board of Park Commissioners. Metroparks includes 20,000 acres of Parkland and in addition to The First Tee of Cleveland’s golf course, manages 6 additional golf courses and the Cleveland Zoo. In collaboration with Cleveland Metroparks our participants will have opportunity for agronomy education.
- The City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
In conjunction with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and City Council a formal Agreement was drafted in which the School District has deeded the land to Cleveland Metroparks with long renewable terms. In collaboration with the School District, our participants will have opportunity for horticulture education. The City of Cleveland provides participants through its recreation centers. The local councilman, Tony Brancatelli, has been enormously supportive and through his help, for the first time this year our program will receive a grant.
- Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital
Rainbow was our inaugural corporate sponsor for our Membership initiative and has supported this effort with a major financial contribution in 2005-2006
